Sir, - It was no surprise to see that the Irishwoman's Diary of October 6th by Arminta Wallace has been denounced by various letter-writers just because she showed the courage to write exactly what she had observed during her visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a state which is believed to be "non-existent" owing to Greek Cypriot propaganda.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I would also like to remind Mr Donal McMahon that his remarks (October 11th) are misleading and that the only illegal occupation in the island of Cyprus for the last 38 years has been the forceful usurpation of the seat of government by the Greek Cypriots. - Yours, etc.,
