Sir, - Fianna Fail and the Labour Party now have a glorious opportunity to right a serious wrong done to Harry Whelehan in the events surrounding the fall of the government in 1994 by nominating him as a candidate for the Presidency.
He is one of the few people to have emerged with dignity from that debacle and in the words of Maire Geoghegan Quinn in her column of Saturday last, he is "distant, authoritative and an essentially legal figure", well qualified to represent the country at the highest level. - Yours, etc.,
