Sir, - According to your front page of May 14th, Mrs McAleese is the first President of Ireland to be given the honour of acting as prizegiver at Henley royal regatta. I would have thought that, as a Head of State, it was President McAleese who is conferring an honour upon the organisers of Henley, and certainly not the other way around. - Yours, etc.,
