Sir, - Reading Kevin Myers's comments about Mary McAleese (An Irishman's Diary, October 23rd), it quickly became apparent that, despite all his disapproving bluster about her arrogance and unsuitability for the office, his true feelings were rising to the surface like an ache from an old war wound.
Who would have guessed it? Myers, you old rogue, you've fallen in love. How sweet. I bet you can't wait for the discipline lessons. - Yours, etc.,
