Sir, - Father Dominic Johnson's letter (April 13th) is in line with the Church's teaching down through the centuries; but there is one, among many, vital doubt in the minds of countless disbelievers that Jesus was taken down from the Cross in a coma and not clinically dead.
The Four Gospels, written many years after the events of the time, relate to what many wished to have happened and, after all, it is quite understandable that Jesus' followers would believe anything was possible in view of his life and teachings. To his disciples and friends, the Resurrection was a reasonable and logical outcome of the events.
It is most unlikely that scientific proof will ever be shown one way or other, so it is a question of believing or disbelieving the events that took place over those few days. Yours, etc.,
