The seal of Confession

Madam, - With regard to Father Kevin McNamara's sincere conviction that "the seal of Confession is never broken" (The Irish Times, December 6th), I can testify that the seal of confession was indeed broken when a curate of St Patrick's Parish in Galway told the parents of a small child what that child had confessed.
