The Sheedy Case

Sir, - When I receive the next request on Oireachtas notepaper urging me to expedite the admission of a constituent for cataract surgery, should I:

1. Burn it and bring the Dail into disrepute;

2. Review the case notes on humanitarian grounds and "have a word" with my ward sister;

3. Seek the impeachment of the sender through Mr Cowen;

4. Suggest the VHI; or

5. Resign to private practice under pressure from my CEO for most of the above options? - Yours, etc.,
