Madam, - To redress the lack of hotel accommodation 2,000 years ago, Travelodge UK is offering one night free over Christmas to couples named Mary and Joseph.
So, Michael O'Leary: any chance of free flights to Egypt? - Yours, etc,
WENDY A NOONE, Gortatleva, Bushypark, Galway.
Madam - Zoe Phillips (December 20th) would like the Christmas lights in Dublin streets to be turned off as soon as Christmas Day is over. Has it come to this - that all we do is moan, like a country of begrudgers? Can we not just embrace the spirit of Christmas, lights and all?
Do we really need to "justify" keeping the lights on? What about all the smiles and the happiness that the festive spirit brings to so many people throughout the world? Put up your trees, turn on your lights and let the festivities run on well into the New Year. - Yours, etc,
ANDREW RAMSEY, Harold's Grange Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18.
