Sir, – Taliban’s forceful takeover of Afghanistan by ousting a democratically elected government is against Irish values. While the world is cynically exploring a possibility of recognising the Taliban, I hope Ireland maintain its dignity by not legitimising the Taliban as the ruling force of Afghanistan. – Yours, etc,
