Madam, - Just what point was Kevin Myers trying to make when he said "like being in love with a woman with a face like a train crash. It makes no sense" (March 31st)?
I'm not going to get indignant. I perfectly understand the necessity of being (over)-elaborate when trying to hold a reader's attention, but was it really necessary to go so far?
My face is badly paralysed from brain surgery six years ago. In the words of Mr Myers, I have "a face like a train crash", but there are things more important than looks and the operation saved my life. - Yours, etc.,
JEAN HOGAN, College Grove, Castleknock, Dublin.
