Sir, – Frank McDonald’s piece (Home News, November 14th) on the proposed vertical park plan is an interesting idea. However, may I suggest an alternative practical plan for the Anglo Quay site? The National Archives are seriously in need of storage. What a prescient reminder to current and future generations of the folly of excess if we managed to protect our heritage in a building on the North Quays in the bosom of the IFSC.
In remembering the 1922 lost heritage in the Customs House fire and considering the tremendous international success of the census online projects facilitated by the National Archives (100 million hits and counting) this would be a truly worthy State project. – Yours, etc,
