Madam, – It is not right or just that the plain people of Ireland should be forced to guarantee the liabilities of irresponsible banks, not right that we should be forced to pay the debts of failed banks and not right that we should have to bail out delinquent and reckless bondholders.
We are sick and tired of hearing that they must learn from their mistakes. It is not right that small businesses should fail to keep banks afloat, that mortgage- holders should lose their homes to pay bankers’ huge bonuses and pensions, and not right that the plain people of Ireland should follow the dictates of failed or dishonest or corrupt politicians.
It’s time to call a halt before they wreck the country. I am calling for the Opposition leaders to join a people’s march on the Dáil on April 8th (today) from the GPO on O’Connell Street at noon, demanding that the Government step down and call a general election on Saturday, April 24th. – Yours, etc,
