Madam, - Chapter 19 of the Book of Numbers has good news for Dermot O'Driscoll (February 15th). The Israelites in the desert knew how to dispose of the Red Cow. The priest was to slaughter it outside the camp. Then he had to sprinkle some of its blood in front of the Tent of Meeting.
The modern-day equivalent would be to take the entire Red Cow mess and dump it outside the city limits. Then some of its dust should be shaken ceremoniously outside the Tent of Meeting on Kildare Street.
- Yours, etc,
DAVID SOWBY, Knocksinna Crescent, Dublin 18.
