Madam, - Dublin City Council is meeting to consider the heavy goods vehicle management proposal from its road and traffic department.
Part of the proposal is to close North Wall, Memorial Bridge and Sir John Rogerson's Quay to HGVs. The result will be that HGVs already in Dublin Port will have to use the East Link bridge to reach certain parts of the port.
Quite apart from the issue of the only route being a tolled route, one has to query the appropriateness of a shareholder in this bridge (Dublin City Council) closing all other routes.
Where is our Competition Authority?
