TRADING IN COW'S LANE

PATRICIA DALY,

PATRICIA DALY,

Madam, - It's depressing that yet again an architect's vision has turned into a traders' nightmare. (Frank McDonald on Cow's Lane, Property, February 20th). Getting a footfall in a new street is hardly rocket science. An art gallery is fine, but goods a normal person will want to buy at reasonable intervals are also needed. A bakery, deli, newsagent/bookshop, perhaps hardware, could combine practicality with an elegant frontage. Substitute flower sellers for the cappuccino drinkers: rain on your lilies is better than on your latte . - Yours, etc.,
