Sir, – Yesterday afternoon at approximately 4.40pm, I was driving towards Howth, Co Dublin, and was stopped at traffic lights, indicating to turn right into Offington Park.
The lights turned to green, and a number of vehicles coming from Howth came through the junction.
In the fourth car was a man with a mobile phone in his right hand, which was held to his ear. You see similar scenes all too often on our roads today.
Unfortunately, this man also had an ice cream cone in his left hand.
