Sir, - I notice that members of the travelling community are once again exercising their right to their cultural heritage by temporarily halting at the entrance to Kilruddery (Lord Meath's Estate) on the junction of the Greystones Road and the Southern Cross here in Bray. Once again they are exercising their right to abandon cars, heap rubbish, allow their children (small and large) to play beside a rather fast roadway, and graze their untethered horses.
I applaud their cultural differences, but as a settled person who does none of these things, I find it rather difficult to live with the despoiling of the entrance to this beautiful house and gardens. Does this make me an intolerant racist? - Yours, etc.,
Joan Green, Ardmore Lawn, Bray, Co Wicklow.
