Sir, - I have just returned from a holiday during which I experienced the trolleybus as a quick and convenient mode of public city transport. The vehicle usually consists of two singledecker buses linked together by a rubber diaphragm, and powered by electric overhead lines.
No tracks are required, and hence all the initial expense and disruption associated with laying them down is avoided. In view of this, might not the trolleybus be a better alternative for Dublin than the tram? - Yours, etc.,
