TTIP deal and global trade

Sir, – Sinn Féin MEP Matt Carthy's letter is right on the button ("TTIP bad for Ireland and the environment", May 27th).

Ironic, isn’t it, that Canada, one of the most socially progressive countries in the world, is being sued by the corporates in the US, one of the most regressive?

TTIP is the “Wallmarting” of the developed world, where toxic capitalism lays waste to anything that prevents wholesale profiteering. This is from someone who has very little regard for Mr Carthy’s brand of politics. – Yours, etc,
