Sir, – Well, let's hope the Tyrone team don't pay too much attention to Jim McGuinness's treatise in The Irish Times, otherwise we may as well walk the dog on Sunday week and meantime not bother about searching for All-Ireland tickets ("Tyrone must challenge Dublin's extremist game-plan", August 21st).
More of the same old denial of the essence of what Gaelic football is as he advocates Tyrone “keeping 15 men in defence – under no circumstances advance beyond the 45” . It’s no wonder that Gaelic football is losing out to hurling as a spectacle worth experiencing. We look forward to Tyrone and Dublin showing an interest in playing to win – in a contest worth seeing. – Yours, etc,
