Sir, - Charities should benefit from the unclaimed change vouchers given out by Dublin Bus. Last month Mr Martin Brady TD said that about £4,000 a month remained in the coffers of the bus company and urged that tokens be given in change.
I have been wondering why one of the major charities does not ask for the vouchers. Visitors from outside the city probably do not bother to claim small amounts, so collection boxes in major hotels, tourist offices and post offices could benefit.
And if Dublin Bus wanted to show community spirit, it could have collection boxes on the buses - or could advertise that the unclaimed tokens would be donated to charity, announcing the amount and charity each month. - Yours, etc.,
