Sir, - Since Dublin Bus introduced its system of giving dockets instead of change to passengers, many thousands of pounds has accumulated and remains unclaimed. This money is dead money because Dublin Bus cannot do anything with it as it doesn't belong to it.

I am appealing to passengers who don't intend to collect their change to consider giving their dockets to GOAL. We can collect them and claim the money back from Dublin Bus.

This money is just small change and nobody seems to be bothered to go and collect it, but GOAL can feed, clothe, educate and shelter a street child in Calcutta for just £10 a month. So, next time you are given one of these dockets by the bus driver, don't throw it away or lose it; send it to GOAL, PO Box 19, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

Alternatively people in workplaces could take it upon themselves to collect unredeemed dockets from their workmates and send them on every few weeks. Not many people would miss these small amounts of money, but collectively they could make a huge difference. - Yours, etc.,
