Sir, – The personal insolvency legislation was signed into law by our President on December 26th, 2012. This was obviously his Christmas break. This Act was delayed for the full year of 2012 to facilitate the banking sector who lobbied for changes. The Act has still not yet commenced, however.
Families are waiting on a weekly basis for some resolution to the mortgage quandary. There are people rooting in bins in Dublin city centre to find food. How much longer must ordinary people wait for some respite? – Yours, etc,
