Sir, — Judith Goldberger (Letters, September 1st) welcomes the old style P&T telephone boxes in Stoneybatter being used as a defibrillator station and expresses the hope that we will see more of the vintage cream and green telephone boxes repurposed for a good cause.
I can report that in Mayo, on the Westport to Newport road, a vintage cream and green telephone box has been, all year, offering farm eggs fresh daily. As far as I’m aware there have been no consequential heart attacks and the laying hens are clucking their delight, however the cock is looking a little tired.
– Yours, etc, GRAEME GUTHRIE, Westport, Co Mayo.
