Sir, – The Government should be congratulated for taking the brave, evidence-based decision to prioritise Covid-19 vaccination by age cohort. This will undoubtedly save lives, speed up the vaccination rollout, allow the HSE to get back to delivering its normal services and will expedite the much-needed opening up of the economy and society. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – While we are accruing Covid debt at a frightening level, would it not be wise to, at the very least, vaccinate those teachers, special needs assistants and school staff who cannot attend school at the moment due to underlying conditions. It seems ridiculous to pay people to sit at home, and pay others to substitute for them, when a few jabs might allow them to return to work. Again, the lack of nuance in the Covid strategy from the Government is shocking. – Yours, etc,
