Sir, - On November 9, 1996, The Irish Times front page head line read: Vaccine error angers Kildare parents and EHB orders inquiry into how 66 children got wrong injection. This was in reference to the three in one DPT vaccine mistakenly given to the Newbridge children. The Minister for Health, Mr Noonan, had asked the EHB to conduct an inquiry as "expeditiously as possible". Dr Brian O'Herlihy, the EHB's Director of Public Health, while conceding the "mistake", assured parents that there was "no risk to children whatever". Your lead editorial rightly questioned whether the vaccination really was as innocuous as Dr O'Herlihy claimed.

That was six months ago. In the meantime, I have not seen any mention of the EHB inquiry in your newspaper or elsewhere. And the parents of the 66 children - are they too still waiting for the EHB report? - Yours etc.,
