Madam, - "Thinking Anew", by GL, (Nov 11th) ends with a quote from Pope John Paul II: "War should belong to the tragic past, to history. It should find no place on humanity's agenda for the future". If we're ever to see that day we need an end to the flag-waving, poppy-wearing, militaristic paraphernalia called "Remembrance", and all such, which, to my mind, are nothing more than a celebration of war. - Yours, etc,
JAMES MORAN, Bunclody, Co Wexford.
