Sir, - Recently, in Letterkenny General Hospital, the vasectomy service was cut off because a number of people working at the hospital deemed it against their religious principles. Needless to say, support was forthcoming from some of the gombeen politicians who seem to flourish in this county.
Next week we can expect an end to blood transfusions because some other fundamentalists tell us that such a service is against their beliefs. Welcome to gombeen country. - Yours, etc.,
