Madam, - My mother recently returned home from four weeks' convalescence in a nursing home. As she left, the matron suggested she have some home care to assist with bathing and mobility. I engaged a home care provider and I was shocked to learn that VAT at 21 per cent is payable on home care fees.
I understand from the matron that there is no VAT on nursing-home fees. How does the Government expect elderly people needing care to stay at home when it taking a 21 per cent levy on the home-care fees? More double-speak? - Yours, etc,
