Sir, - In your issue today (November 20th) you publish a fine photograph of Fidel Castro President of a "communist" country, Cuba, visiting Pope John Paul II at the Vatican.
I, and many of my friends ask why the President of Ireland, Mrs Mary Robinson, is among the very few heads of state in the world who have not gone to visit the Pope? He has done us the honour of coming to visit us and is deeply interested in our country. We feel that the President's neglect in this regard is insensitive and offensive. - Yours, etc.,
Donnybrook,
Dublin 4.
