Sir, - On behalf of Independent Newspapers Chapel of the National Union of Journalists I write to express our sense of outrage at the offensive comments made by Vincent Browne (June 28th) following the murder of our colleague Veronica Guerin.
She was murdered because she was a journalist. His attempts to declare otherwise, without revealing the alleged motive gives rise to speculation and rumour of a most irresponsible nature. - Yours, etc.,
