Madam, - The disgraceful scenes of violence at the Tyrone-Dublin league game are no surprise to those of us promoting Gaelic Games at schools level. Indeed thuggery, violence, cheating, bullying and abuse are quite characteristic of what we have to put up with when we enter the different competitions.

The "head-in-the-sand" approach of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael has meant we are now at a crisis point. Firm action must be taken now; otherwise, many people are bound to question their involvement and that of their children in Gaelic football and hurling. - Yours, etc,
