Madam, - Following the 2012 general election Bertie Ahern will no longer be Taoiseach, will no longer be able to appoint 11 Senators and as a non-university graduate, won't even be able to vote in Seanad election.
On realising this, perhaps then after three full terms as Taoiseach he might ask himself why he didn't legislate for the 1979 constitutional amendment, or indeed implement the many Seanad reform reports - not having had the time to get around to it won't be an excuse. - Yours, etc,
