Sir, - For many years, the Maritime Institute has been urging, often through the courtesy of your Letters page, that our nation should think seriously of using wave power for the production of energy, thus reducing our dependence on oil tycoons and nuclear power magnates. We also regularly expressed our admiration for the pioneering work done by scientists at Queen's University Belfast in researching the best means for tapping wave power.
