Sir, – Wonderful! The State is creating jobs at last and the media dutifully records the good news (Business, May 30th). Four hundred jobs to be created in monitoring water usage. But why stop there? This is obviously a great economic advance. Why not go on to tax road usage (Oops we already do that), walking on paths, going to restaurants, texting (yes, some geniuses have already suggested that), or even going to the loo? All of these would require countless jobs to monitor and collect. What a fabulous job creation scheme, promoting inevitable economic recovery. Or am I missing something? – Yours, etc,
