Sir, – I can report my complete satisfaction with the new passport card. I applied the moment I saw the article in The Irish Times ("Credit-card size passport for European travel available", October 5th). The app worked first time and the card was duly delivered by registered post.
My only disappointment is the quality of the image, which I am assured is the result of middle age and gravity – not something for which we can hold the Minister accountable. – Is mise,

Sir, – Unlike Dermot Walsh (October 30th) and others, I was able to download the app, have any of my first three selfies accepted and submitted my application in less than 10 minutes. The app and online tracking make for a great service from the Passport Office. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – It took me a few minutes to get the correct lining up of eyes and chin but after that my first picture was accepted and the whole process completed. I think this issue may be more about people’s inability to hold their phone correctly than any fault in the software. – Yours, etc,
