Wesley Boyd and the Angelus

Sir, – In the Angelus debate, is there any chance correspondents on the subject could append their age to their letters.

Sir, – “Ireland is a secular state. It is time the national broadcaster fell into line.”

I cannot agree with Wesley Boyd.

May I offer an alternative soundbite? “Ireland is a grown-up and varied society. We are happy to allow a little broadcasting time to mark the religious observance of one of our groups.”

This is better than being whipped into line in the name of secular conformity.
