Sir, – Within a two-day period I received four identical copies of a letter from one of our constituency TDs (Fianna Fáil) together with a copy of a Fianna Fáil motion in Dáil Éireann regarding the closure of rural Garda stations.
All four letters were addressed identically.
While I welcome the sentiment and the pro-active approach of TDs making contact with constituents, it begs the question of how scarce Dáil resources are spent.
If this level of efficiency applies in relation to day-to-day constituency politics, one wonders how things operate on the larger scale (although I suppose that on the day that is in it, with the Anglo Irish Bank debacle rumbling on, we probably know). – Yours, etc,
