Madam, – It is beyond belief that consideration is being given to demolishing houses and ghost estates across Ireland.
At no time should this take place, but particularly not in the middle of a crisis when some people are homeless and others are under threat of becoming homeless, when unemployment is high and many people are living in substandard housing which does not meet their specific needs.
There is a challenge here and an opportunity for those in power in Ireland to pay back socially to the people what has been taken from them through the undemocratic process of Nama.
