`Whataboutery' In The North

Sir, - Michael Morgan (April 10th) seems to have lost his bearings entirely

Sir, - Michael Morgan (April 10th) seems to have lost his bearings entirely. He accuses me of making constant appeals for an inquiry into the events of 1970. I have never made any such suggestion, let alone appeal - though, judging from Denis Coghlan's report in your edition of April 11th, that might not be such a bad idea.

Mr Morgan says the context within which I make these imaginary appeals is the refusal of unionists to condemn Bloody Sunday. That is a matter he might take up with unionists, but I would remind him Bloody Sunday occurred in 1972. - Yours, etc.,

Dennis Kennedy, Belfast 7.
