Where's The Wood?

Sir, - I often wonder if other readers have noticed that whenever a developer/builder moves onto a new site it is stripped bare of trees and hedgerows (possibly hundreds of years old) to the detriment of the environment of the wildlife, birds and people in the vicinity. The construction company then promptly names the new-built housing estate Something-or-other Wood.

It makes me mad, and not a tree in sight! - Yours, etc.,
