Madam, – I agree with Vincent Browne (Opinion, July 28th) that we as Irish people are not broke – it’s the Government or the exchequer that is broke. I also agree with him that income taxes should be increased.
To complete the job, he just needs to tell us what tax rates should be increased. The standard rate? The top rate? Or a new higher rate for people on very high incomes? – Yours, etc,
