Sir, – I would take issue with Larry Donnelly’s criticism of your Editorial with regard to the whip in politics (June 14th). As a member of a political party, I’m aware they are all coalitions with varying views on many issues.
So you argue your case to the best of your ability, but if your view does not prevail you support the majority. That’s democracy. If a decision is made on a fundamental issue, up with which you are not prepared to put, you resign. – Yours, etc,
