Sir, - In an article in The Irish Times (March 8th) the leader of the Progressive Democrats, Mary Harney, at the Women's Political Association publication of Values and Participation, was quoted as saying: "There are no women newspaper editors".

This is untrue. The editor of the Westmeath Independent, a very popular weekly newspaper, is a woman - Margaret Grennan. - Yours, etc.,
