Sir, - I can't believe Patrick Boland (September 30th) is serious. I really hope he is as tongue in cheek as Kevin Myers (An Irishman's Diary, September 17th) so obviously was. I knew as soon as I read his piece there would be some kind of ridiculous backlash. There are more important things going on in the world today to get worked up about.
Speaking as a female, I found the article thoroughly enjoyable and agreed wholeheartedly with what he had to say! Women drivers are the most discourteous on the road. You just have to try to pull out of a side road or even cross one as a pedestrian to realise that! Life is too short to take things so seriously, Mr Boland. - Yours., etc,
