Sir, – What a fantastic win for Ireland’s women’s hockey team against a courageous India in the World Cup quarter-final in London. What a shame, however, that our women’s international team members are required to pay an individual “self-funding” payment of €550 each to supplement the financing of Irish Hockey.
Perhaps someone can remind me how much our individual international rugby and soccer players contribute to their respective union or associations. – Yours, etc,
