Madam, - With reference to Dawn Edge-O'Neill's letter of June 7th, I am one of those so "lads" who insinuated themselves into the Women's Mini Marathon. This was my second time. If the same phoney, sexist regulations were attached to a men's race, would "Mná na Éireann" not be contacting your good self and Messrs Duffy, Ryan and Kenny to voice their dissaproval?
The women I ran with had a great laugh at my false frontage and held no grudge or malice toward me. Under no circumstances do I feel I have stopped anyone from running. They had the same opportunity as me to register.
The decision by the organisers not to award me or my fellow male entrants a medal is childish, but my motto is: "They can take my medal but not the cash I raised for my charity." - Yours, etc,
ADRIAN MURPHY, Ardmore Crescent, Bray, Co Wicklow.
