A chara, - How right Melanie Brown is (November 11th). Female garments are, it seems, designed to reveal squelchy rolls of flesh, which peek out at every opportunity. Jeans cut as low as they can go, tops so tight as to appear painted on, several inches of both midriff and cleavage on display.

Whether it be for modesty, comfort or sheer warmth, this season, I urge the fashion industry to add a few extra inches to female clothing.

Incidentally, I've further noticed that the latest Destiny's Child tour is sponsored by McDonald's. Ludicrously ironic, considering Beyoncé once boasted of eating only four slices of cucumber for lunch, and all three girls cavort on stage revealing borderline anorexic figures and flesh like plastic.

Hopefully, they'll soon indulge in a few Big Macs and become real independent women! - Yours, etc.,
