Young people and political change

A chara, – Una Mullally's suggestion that "Fianna Fáil's youth vote is finished" because the party was not "there when it mattered" is unfair and incorrect. Along with many other members of Fianna Fáil, including councillors and TDs, I canvassed for a Yes vote both with the party and as part of a multi-party Yes Equality campaign, and I have no doubt that our participation was appreciated. As a party, we have strongly supported marriage equality since our ardfheis in 2012. Ógra Fianna Fáil has consistently campaigned on the issue and Micheál Martin passionately advocated for a Yes vote in a number of debates during the campaign.

Many of us will be marching under the Fianna Fáil banner at the Pride parade later this month. If Una Mullally is there, she is welcome to come along and join us. – Is mise,
