A chara, - The recent achievements of our young sportsmen gladden the heart. What a pity then that our national broadcasting service and our national press were not able to cover both events with equal degrees of interest.
Our European under-16 soccer champions got wonderful coverage and well done to them but our under-19 rugby team became World Champions and they were not accorded the same amount of airtime or column space. What does this say about the standard of our sporting press in this country? - Yours, etc., E Geraghty
